Create a Photo Card

Filed under: Teach — wyerl @ 3:27 am

The purpose of this exercise is to help you learn how to insert a photo that is saved on your computer into a Microsoft Publisher project and create your own photo card.
This is a handy little trick to have up your sleeve!  My example is one of my kids.  You can also use this for pictures of your pets, of you and your sweetie, or anything else that you want to share with others.  Another project I like to do with this is to upload cartoon characters or themes and create custom birthday invitations for my kids.  The possibilities are endless!

Honestly, I had a difficult time figuring out really where to begin.  It was quite frustrating!  As I plugged along, I got a better feel for the whole project.  Since Publisher is a new program for me, there was a lot of trial and error involved.  When I finally figured it all out, I started with a clean slate and re-created my publication, while recording step-by-step each function I had to perform.

One major problem that I ran into is that I’m unable to complete my screenshots.  I know how to do it (just like the database project), but it’s not working.  When I get that fixed, I will go back and insert the visuals I chose for my step-by-step process.

I think my directions were clear enough to guide someone through the process.  And having one of my own completed projects to refer to makes it even easier.  If any additional questions arise, I have links to various Microsoft Publisher tutorials for additional information.

Teach Project

Filed under: Teach — wyerl @ 7:31 pm

I’d like to teach the world to sing, in perfect harmony…  Just kidding!

As I’ve gone over the requirements for the Teach project, I think I am going to do an online lesson for how to make a birthday card (or invitation) using Microsoft Publisher.  This is a relatively new program for me that I’m just learning to use.  My hope is that by writing a lesson, I’ll be able to better learn the program.

I think that this would be beneficial for others since it’s a Microsoft program that’s available to many.  We’ll see!!!
